Garage extension, Willesden, London.

The busy general garage had planning permission to expand into a triangular plot at the side of the premises. The structural design had to allow for the garage to stay open all the time, while making the most of the internal space available.

Aleck Associates Ltd designed steel portal frames which could be built in different sizes to suit the tapered plan of the extension, and which could be built without closing the garage.
